Commercial fire alarms, from plans to sign‑off
We design to NFPA 72, install, and pretest the system ahead of the final test. Then we monitor it 24/7 and track your inspections every year.
We handle your fire alarm from start to finish
Design, installation, final inspection, monitoring, and yearly inspections, with nothing handed off to another company.
Design
We work from your engineer's drawings. If there are no stamped fire alarm drawings yet, send us the architectural drawings and we design the system and submit it for AHJ approval. From your engineer's drawings, or we design from the architectural drawings.
Installation & programming
We install, wire, and program addressable and conventional panels, and lay out the detectors, pull stations, and horn strobes for full coverage.Panels, detectors, pull stations, and horn strobes.
Final inspection
We pretest the system ahead of the acceptance test with your local fire inspector or building department. We pretest ahead of the acceptance test.
Monitoring
Once the system passes, we connect it to 24/7 monitoring through a UL‑listed central station and start tracking its inspections.Connected to a UL-listed central station, 24/7.
Yearly inspections
We test and inspect the system on the schedule NFPA 72 requires and keep every report on file.Tested on the NFPA 72 schedule, every report on file.
Takeovers & upgrades
We take over Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Potter, and Honeywell panels without replacing them, or upgrade an aging system. Have a different panel? We'll tell you and quote your options.
When does a building need a fire alarm?
A lot of our jobs start with an owner who didn't know they needed one. The usual reasons:
- New construction or a major renovation, where the building code requires it for the occupancy
- A change of use: an office becoming a restaurant, a retail space adding assembly, a new daycare or classroom
- A sprinklered building, since the sprinkler's flow and tamper switches have to be monitored
- A violation from the fire inspector, or a request from your insurer
The building code and your local fire inspector decide, based on how the building is used and how big it is. Not sure about yours? Give us a call.
Switch to us and keep your panel
Already have a fire alarm? If your panel is one of these four, we take it over as it is, along with its monitoring and inspections.

Start with a photo of your panel. We plan the switch so there is no gap in monitoring, and your old account closes only after our station confirms a live test signal.Start with a photo of your panel. We plan the switch to avoid a gap in coverage.
Panel not on the list? Send a photo anyway, and we'll tell you your options, including a replacement quote.

Frequently asked questions
Does a proposal cost anything?
No. Proposals are free, with no obligation. Each one has a clear scope, so there are no surprise charges later.
Do I need engineered drawings to get a proposal?
No. If you have drawings, send them and we will bid to them. If you do not, photos and a short walkthrough video are usually enough for us to price the job. If we need to see the building first, we will let you know.
Who files the permit and handles the fire inspection?
The owner or architect usually files the permit along with the building permit. We prepare the fire alarm submittal (shop drawings, device layout, battery and voltage calculations, and product data), work with your local fire inspector or building department, and run the final acceptance test. We file it when your town requires us to.
How often does a commercial fire alarm system have to be inspected?
New York follows NFPA 72, which requires most fire alarm systems to be tested and inspected at least once a year. A few devices have their own schedule. We track the due dates and send reminders before each inspection is due.
What happens if my system has deficiencies at inspection?
We write down what failed and why. We can quote the repair, or do it at our regular time-and-materials rate, and once it is approved we make it, test again, and add the updated report to your file.
Do you work with general contractors on new construction?
All the time. We bid from your plans, work around your other trades, and take the fire alarm through final inspection. Send the drawings and we will bid to the spec.
